Did you know there are plans by Bronzeoak to develop a huge biomass power station near Castle Cary in Somerset?Care4Cary has been set up in response to the proposed plans by Bronzeoak. We are not opposed to Biomass power stations in principle - small ones near a local fuel source and where the heat generated can be used - can be excellent. However, the site near Cary is unsuitable for a huge power plant because: 1) There is no local fuel source which will mean more lorries on our roads. 2) There is no way the heat generated can be used – it will be wasted. 3) The site is upwind of Cary - so that emissions will land on the town. This website is to provide information on these and other related issues and to keep you up to date with any new developments with these plans. We also offer the chance for people to air their opinions. If you would like to join Care4Cary, or have any queries or comments, please click here.
